The idea was to show the relationship between creator and creature haha! For me Arnie will always be the Terminator! In fact, the bodybuilder was the best choice to be the metallic villain. Hi everyone.
Yes, it takes a long time since my last caricature artwork.
Ok, people have asked me about a Van Halen band caricature.
The band is on the road again. The Eddie’s son Wolfgang is the bassist now showing his skills.
I think It's time for homage to them.
So, here it is a sample (just an idea) about a VH caricature.
I´d like to finish using the same render I’ve used in the Eddie’s caricature.
The attention is to do a nice art about Wolfie (many people remember the Michael Anthony’s face)

Women in leather are sexy and seductive.
The illustrator who use this subject the most was the genius Hajime Sorayama. After turning the pages of some fine art books and remembering the work from this fantastic artist I got very inspired. Then I have decided to do homage to him illustrating – in my way – a girl in leather.
I did not focus in a caricature result but tending to the realism.
This is my idea about a gothic girl that provokes a sexy appeal in her attitude:
I found a brazilian model called Alexandra and her photos wearing leather ( she is a fashion designer: http://www.blackfrost.com.br ) an choose one to illustrate.
For me, the biggest challenge in realistic illustrations is always to simulate textures. In this case I tried to get as close as possible to the leather in which should be very tight to the body accentuating its shape.
The dark make-up together with the leather helps as a contrast with the light skin.
Once the drawing was done I scanned it. The process of coloring, working on the texture and details were all done in Corel 9 and using the tablet Intuos 3.
I hope you all enjoy this homage to the master Sorayama.

Here is my idea about the Sin in the Garden of Eden. The idea occured to me after talking to a friend of mine Paul Logue (amazing musician and songwriter), he explained to me about the concept behind a new song he'd written called "Eden's Curse". So, after that I started this idea. I´ve done it using my favorite software: Painter( In every artwork I discover a new idea how to render “this” or how to mix “that”. It is very interesting software).

I wanted to pay homage for the best car designer I´ve ever seen.
The creator and his creation: Chio Foose beside his customized Camaro.
The technique is the same I´ve used in ´my artworks gallery : oil brushes, many layers for each texture, worked in a large size ( A3 format).

I decided to try the exotic style of a friend of mine on a caricature. The process that I used in Painter is the usual: oil brushes(opacity variations between 10 and 30), many layers and for the hair´s technique I adapted again the Linda´s (Bergkvist)tutorial . Comments are always welcome.

I sent this artwork to Journey Challenge. The idea was to show the kids ( my kids) riding their chopper looking for something. If you attempt to the chopper´s mirror it will be easy to see what they are looking for.
In this artwork I explored more the Painter´s path/masks tools - mainly in chopper parts.

This is my artwork submission for the EXPOSE 4. It was made to honor my idol, Mr. Edward Van Halen, an amazing guitarist who has influenced many musicians over the years.
The interesting thing about it is that I used the Photoshop Hair Tutorial from the Linda Bergkvist page and had to translate the instructions to try and discover how I could achieve similar results using Painter tools. Well, here it is. Comments are always welcome. Thanks!

Tomati is an amazing brazilian Jazz Fusion guitar player and he plays for Jo Soares´tv show ( it is like a brazilian David Letterman´s TV talk show called PROGRAMA DO JO). Tomati loves to play and surf. This artwork was made to honor both guys and is the cover art of his album TOMATI - LORD`S CHILDREN.

This one was painted in the same HENZEL AND GRETEL´s style. First I enhanced the contrast of the scanned draw. Then I cover the entire image with a dark brow( separate layer, 70% opacity). After that I start to paint using Glazing Round oil pencil( in fact it has some tuned variations in its Stroke Designer specs).
In traditional art Gregory Manchess is a wizard of this technique. Thnks.
